My husband didn’t turn on the slow cooker before I went to work so it cooked 8.5 hours. I found that sufficient and know my slow cooker runs hot. The meat was tender and carrots and potatoes good texture. I didn’t care for the flavor. The vinegar taste was very strong in my opinion. My 3 year old and 1 year old rejected it.

Five stars Great flavor- I made in slow cooker setting of my instant pot. Per reviews it said that in IP can be a bit cooker so I started it at pressure cook for 0 minutes at first to get it warmed then cook on low for 8 hours and 1 hour high at the end. It was perfect and fork tender. Veggies are well cooked and soft with a rich flavor.

You list this recipe as gluten free, but Soy Sauce contains gluten as it is made with wheat. Sorry if you addressed this at some point that I didn’t see.

In reply to Shawn smith. Hi Shawn. Yes, photographer’s pictures show a different roast. Good news - it works as well. No, I don’t cook with packets full of preservatives and chemicals. We try to eat healthy with real food which is a bit extra work but in my world is worth the benefits. Health is worth the work. And the real taste of food can’t be compared to packets. Hope you give it a try and see for yourself how amazing good food tastes.
